Associate Degree General Education Fulfillment
If you have an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and you are transferring into a bachelor’s degree at AMU, your associate degree may fulfill up to 30 credits of the general education requirement. Credit may vary based on specific program requirements.
We welcome all community college graduates. Some community colleges have agreements with AMU that align earned associate degrees with specific bachelor’s programs for maximum transfer credits. Find out if we have an agreement with your school.
Credit by Examination
We accept transfer credit from American Council on Education (ACE) tests, Advanced Placement (AP), Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DSST (formerly DANTES Subject Standardized Tests), and Excelsior College Exams. Prior Learning Assessment
Looking for college credit for real-world experience? Once you’re admitted as a student here, you can enroll in our Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program, which grants academic credit for knowledge gained outside of college. Examples include knowledge acquired on the job, in training programs, by running a business, working with volunteer organizations, or even pursuing a hobby.
