American Military University Freedom Grant

Undergraduate and Master’s Education for Potentially Zero Out-of-Pocket Tuition*

AMU has created the Freedom Grant for all U.S. active-duty servicemembers, National Guard members, and Reservists, providing tuition that caps at the military TA rate:

  • $250 per credit hour for all undergraduate, master's degree, and graduate certificate programs

Military spouses/dependents also receive a tuition grant that caps undergraduate, master's degree, and graduate certificate tuition at $250/credit hour.

To minimize out-of-pocket costs, the University also provides no-cost textbooks and ebooks for all undergraduate, doctoral, and military-tuition-grant-eligible master’s-level students.
AMU also offers a technology fee waiver for U.S. active-duty servicemembers, National Guard members, and Reservists.

Many APUS students receive military tuition assistance and veterans education benefits, which are not student loan debt.
