About This Program

American Military University’s (AMU) undergraduate certificate in instructional design focuses on teaching adult learners in academic and nonacademic settings, such as government or corporate training environments.

AMU’s online program provides an exploration of the leading theories, research trends, evidence-based practices, and concepts of curriculum design to educate adult learners. Coursework explores:

  • Significant theories, research, and evidence-based practices in the field
  • Effective instruction that challenges and involves diverse adult learners
  • Development of cohesive courses, syllabi, assessments, and objectives aligned to engaging learning activities

Includes alumni who graduated with an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree from APUS. Student loan debt is defined as student loans and private education loans used for tuition, fees, living expenses, and book costs associated with courses taken at APUS.
