R.E.A.D. Book Club

The R.E.A.D. Book Club provides an open forum for discussion of literature. The organization aims to unite the student and alumni body through reading and to foster community through the discussion of various literary topics using GoodReads and Facebook. This organization will also promote reading and literacy through community outreach and service projects.

  • September 29- Shattered Echo with author Linda Silva as a guest speaker 
  • October 27- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K. Rowling 
  • November 24- Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us by Michael Moss 
  • December 29- We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson

Membership & Fees

Benefits include: Participate in in-depth discussions and assimilation of different viewpoints all contributing to increasing your knowledge and appreciation of literature.

Membership fee: $0.

Process: To join R.E.A.D Book Club, complete an application!

Note: Membership is available to students and alumni in good academic standing.

Chapter Standing

R.E.A.D Book Club has achieved PLATINUM standing, per the university's Chapter Standards program. Platinum standing demonstrates the highest level of chapter involvement and denotes excellence in chapter leadership and member engagement.

Campus leadership opportunities are a great way to meet other students, alumni, and faculty at the university while also developing skills in the areas of:

The Office of Student and Alumni Affairs is always looking for people to get involved and be campus leaders, including chapter officers, who lead student organizations like this one. Membership is available year-round to students and alumni in good academic standing in all degree fields at the university.
