This course explores the management of information security in modern organizations, focusing on strategic, technical, and human factors that ensure the confidentiality integrity and availability of digital assets. Students will learn to identify, evaluate, and respond to contemporary threats (including cloud, AI/ML, IoT, and supply chain risks) by applying risk management frameworks, security controls, security architecture models, and information security management practices. Drawing from topics such as access control, physical controls, network security, computer security, information systems security, and risk assessment—all foundational elements emphasized in the course curriculum—they will analyze how organizations protect data and manage information security risks across information systems and other information assets. Through case studies and discussions, students will develop critical skills in incident response, business continuity, governance, and cultivating a resilient cybersecurity culture. The course also strengthens student capabilities in evaluating security measures, conducting risk analysis, modeling security threats, and supporting effective security management within critical business environments. Spanish language learners may complete this course in Spanish.
