Dena M. Weiss
Criminal Justice Professor
M.S.: Virginia Commonwealth University

Dena M. WeissProfessor Dena Weiss has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Sociology from Mary Baldwin College and a Master’s Degree in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently a Crime Scene Investigator and a Fingerprint Expert for a central Florida police department. Prior to working for a local police department, Ms Weiss was a Serologist for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Tampa, Florida. She has been actively working crime scenes and examining fingerprints for over eleven years. Her court experience includes testifying in court cases in over fifteen Florida counties. She has provided testimony for over 200 Federal and Circuit court cases.

    • Receive up to 15 graduate semester hour credits for prior master's courses completed at the National Academy.

    • Receive up to 9 graduate semester hour credits towards a master's degree program.
  • USMC Civilian Law Enforcement Academies
    • Receive up to 9 undergraduate semester hour credits for completion of a basic academy program.
  • Southern Police Institute Alumni Association
    • Receive up to 12 undergraduate or graduate semester hour credits for courses completed at SPI
  • Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department University
    • Undergraduate transfer credit awarded for completion of the Detective's College program.
  • Los Angeles Police Department University Leadership Program
    • Credit awarded for completion of the University Leadership program.
