Course Code: RTMG495 Course ID: 4244 Credit Hours: 3 Level: Undergraduate

This course is a capstone course designed to allow the student to review, analyze and integrate the work the student has completed toward a degree in Retail Management. The student will complete an approved academic project or paper that demonstrates mastery of retail management studies. This is a capstone course to be taken after all other core courses have been satisfactorily completed. Student must have SENIOR standing to register.

Current Syllabi

RTMG 495 Senior Seminar in Retail Management provides the student with a capstone experience at the conclusion of core and required courses in the degree path.The course project will demonstrate knowledge learned in the theories of the Learning Objectives (LO).

After successfully completing this course, students will fulfill the following Learning Objectives:

LO1: Distinguish elements of a functional management philosophy.
LO2: Evaluate organizational resources and competitive advantage in retail firms.
LO3: Assess strategy formulation at the business-unit level in a variety of successful retail firms.
LO4: Analyze strategy implementation through the use of organizational design and control.
LO5: Examine the role of employee empowerment.
LO6: Examine the effects of transportation, logistics, and supply chain management on retail operations.
LO 7: Demonstrate integration of concepts and experience in Retail Management.
LO 8: Present a working version of your resumewhich assembles your learning experiences in key components of Retail Management.
