Current Syllabi

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

1. Define tourism to include the components of tourism management

2. Discuss the stages of marketing the tourism product, to include tourist markets

3. Recognize destinations and their patterns based on regions and pull factors

4. Formulate an understanding into consumer travel behavior and types of travel experiences

5. Categorize the economics of tourism (supply, demand, sociocultural and environmental impacts, forecasting, and economic impact)

6. Identify the essentials of tourism research and marketing

7. Assess the changing nature of tourism by identifying the needs of the future tourist

8. Investigate sustainable tourism and the shift towards ecotourism
