Submission of Assignments: Although distance learning provides you with a flexible schedule to meet your professional, personal and academic responsibilities, you are expected to follow the student course guide carefully and submit assignments on time. If you know you are going to be unavoidably late, you may avoid a penalty to your grade by e-mailing me in advance of your circumstances and provide me with your planned completion date. Or, in the case of an emergency, you may e-mail me as soon as possible after the due date with a planned completion date. I will be happy to work with you but you must keep me informed of your situation. Late submissions could cost you points!
Online Participation and Interaction: Successful completion of APUS courses requires online access and may require usage of PowerPoint, MSWord and Adobe Acrobat Reader programs.
Readings and Written Assignments: Throughout the course, you will have assignments that require reading and synthesis of and response to course content. All written assignments must be in your own words and contain proper source citations for paraphrases and/or direct quotations) and must be submitted as MSWord files, in APA style, error free and in accordance with the APUS writing standards found in the Student Handbook in the e-classroom. Absolutely no copying from published resources is allowed. Rewrite the material in your own words. Please make use of the Classroom’s spellchecker.
Writing Assignments: You will submit four individual, writing or research assignments. Instructions for them are located in the Assignment section of the classroom.
Grading – Your course grade will be based on timely completion of the following assignments. Participation in the course is expected and, therefore, points are not assigned for it; however, points will be deducted for late assignment submissions and/or failure to respond to instructor feedback.
