  • Parents of dependent students can borrow under the PLUS Loan Program within the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program

  • Eligibility:
    • You must be the student's biological or adoptive parent or the student's stepparent, if the biological or adoptive parent has remarried at the time of application
    • Your child must be a dependent student
      • He or she is under 24, unmarried, and has no legal dependents at the time the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is submitted
      • Exceptions are made for veterans, wards of court, and other special circumstances. Contact the Financial Aid Office for help
    • Your child must be enrolled at least half-time at a school
    • A credit check will be done. You cannot have an adverse credit history
    • Additionally, your child must meet the general eligibility requirements for all Federal Aid

    1. Apply for admission to our university
    2. Select your academic start date
    3. Submit the Federal Student Aid (FSA) Intent form, once you have been accepted as a student
    4. Access “My Financial Aid Office” to

    1. Sign your Master Promissory Note (MPN) (Loan recipients only)
    2. Complete your PLUS Loan Application
    3. Review your award
    4. Sign your Master Promissory Note (MPN)
    5. Register for classes. Select Federal Student Aid as your method of payment
    6. Take action on any requests received from your Financial Aid Representative. Some students may be selected for a process called Verification
    7. Review your confirmed award letter within “My Financial Aid Office" inside myCampus
