George is a retired Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant with 20 years of service as an infantry Staff Non-Commissioned Officer. One of the highlights of his career was selection to the highly competitive SNCO Degree Completion Program. While assigned to the program, George completed undergraduate degree requirements with the Virginia Commonwealth University.

As a beneficiary of the Marine Corps Lifelong Learning program, he also studied with the University of Oklahoma at the graduate level.

George has been with APUS for over 8 years and has been instrumental in the growth of AMU within the military community as Director of the Military Outreach team. He is currently the President of the Virginia Advisory Council for Military Education.
