AMU and GoArmyEd

On April 1, 2006, the Army moved its active duty soldiers from a paper-based to an online method of processing tuition assistance (TA) via the Go ArmyEd portal.

Soldiers on active duty, including enlisted soldiers of the Army National Guard and Army Reserve on active duty pursuant to Title 10 or Title 32 are eligible to request TA online for courses that begin on or after May 1, 2006.  AMU students who are active-duty Army and using Army TA for classes starting May 1, 2006 and afterward must be registered on the GoArmyEd Web site.

At the GoArmyEd portal:

  • Soldiers will identify their chosen degree/certificate program and request TA online.

  • Soldiers will be able to see a record of courses previously taken and their degree plan.

  • Soldiers will be able to see their available TA balance online.

  • The soldier’s TA eligibility checks will be automated.  If TA is approved, a request for enrollment will be passed electronically to the school. If the TA request is disapproved, the soldier will be notified of necessary corrective action(s) necessary.

  • Registrations and drop/withdrawals will be able to be coordinated through GoArmyEd, in partnership with information submitted to AMU.

If you are in the Army you need to register for classes with us first, then through to have the TA electronically sent to us. For detailed information about the Tuition Assistance for Army students, please visit
