The University’s Bachelor of Arts in Military History is designed for students seeking greater understanding of military historiography studies in the context of a general liberal arts education. This popular baccalaureate education is completed entirely online, enabling working adults to fit a quality education into their busy schedules. The curriculum is designed differently than many military history programs because it focuses primarily on armed conflict and how their outcomes shaped civilizations throughout history.
The program provides a general foundation in the military history discipline by emphasizing five historical perspectives. This includes (1) philosophies and strategies of war; (2) leaders and management of militaries and people; (3) decisive historical battles and their influence on societies; (4) technological innovations in war and their influence on society; and how (5) historical lessons of diplomacy and foreign affairs may prevent or lead to future conflicts.
