Faculty Spotlight

Carol Passman
Director
PhD: University of Akron

Carol PassmanCarol Passman received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology in 1998 and her Masters in Counseling Psychology in 1992 from the University of Akron, Ohio. She received a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in English from Washburn University of Topeka, Kansas in 1990. Doctor Passman is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American School Counseling Association and the Indiana School Counseling Association.

Prior to becoming a full time faculty member in 2000, Doctor Passman taught part time and served as a full time college and university student development professional for six years. As an assistant dean of students and director of counseling, she specialized in personal counseling, career counseling and student orientation programming. Her additional professional interests include service learning, student mentoring and child literacy. Doctor Passman grew up in a military family and completed all her undergraduate and graduate work as a non-traditional student with a teenage daughter. These experiences have given her a thorough understanding of the challenges associated with balancing family, work and academic life.
