Awards and Recognition

 

As a university, we firmly believe in celebrating and recognizing our outstanding students, alumni, and faculty for their dedication to service, education, and their professional field. Six distinct awards recognize exceptional graduates and alumni members and are awarded on a yearly basis. Award criteria and the application process for each of our university awards is provided below. To apply for one of our prestigous awards, please complete the award application.

Community Service Award

The Alumni Community Service Award recognizes exceptional alumni who have rendered distinctive service to their community, or to society as a whole.

Alumni Education Award

The Alumni Education Award recognizes exceptional alumni whose excellence in higher education merits recognition and whose example has inspired others.

Alumni Award

The Alumni University Service Award recognizes exceptional alumni who have rendered distinctive service to the university.

Distinguised Graduate Award

The Distinguished Graduate Award recognizes exceptional graduates who have set themselves apart by making significant contributions to our nation or their community. These members demonstrate a strong interest in supporting a lifetime of military or public service.

James P. Etter Award

The James P. Etter Creativity and Innovation Award recognizes an outstanding member of the APUS community for innovative and dedicated work that has inspired the APUS community.

President's Award

The President’s Award recognizes a graduate who has set him- or herself apart from their classmates academically and has made significant contributions to his or her nation or community. Recognizing their commitment to service, scholastic achievement, outstanding character, and leadership.
