Our university welcomes international applicants and currently has approximately 100 students from more than 20 foreign countries. Note: Because we are an online university, students are not required to enter the U.S. therefore we do not issue I-20 or DS-2019 Forms for the F-1 or J-1 student visas.
In addition to the admission requirements for undergraduate or graduate study, students whose native or primary language is not English must also provide verification of English proficiency.
Students must have their non-U.S. transcripts from their post secondary education evaluated to determine their U.S. equivalency. Various credential evaluation agencies can interpret the educational backgrounds of people who have studied outside the United States and are in need of statements of U.S. equivalencies. These agencies issue two main types of reports:
Applicants must self-certify on their admissions application that they have received the equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma or have the recognized equivalent such as a GED certificate or have completed secondary school through home schooling as defined by state law. (Our institution maintains the right to require the student to provide supporting documentation if needed). NOTE: Applicants must submit a Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) Application if they have completed military training in the U.S. (AARTs, SMART, CGI, etc.) and/or civilian training (CLEP, DSST, FEMA, EMI, etc.) and wish to have it evaluated for possible credit.
Undergraduate transfer students who have previous college-level credits are required to submit a Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) Application as part of their admission process. They must request the evaluation agency interpreting their non-U.S. college-level transcript to send a course-by-course evaluation report directly to the university.
Exception: Transfer students who have applied for a transfer credit evaluation and are requesting transfer credit for coursework taken at a Canadian Institution are NOT REQUIRED to get an International course-by-course evaluation of the Canadian transcript if it meets the following criteria (the official transcript will still be required):
Those whose highest degree is equivalent to a bachelor's with no prior graduate-level work must request for the evaluation agency interpreting their non-U.S. college-level transcript to send an official degree-only verification report directly to our university. The report must verify that the student earned a bachelor's degree equivalent to one earned at a nationally or regionally accredited institution in the United States.
Exceptions:
Those with prior graduate-level work at a non-U.S. institution who wish to apply for a Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) must request for the evaluation agency interpreting their non-U.S. college-level transcript to send an official course-by-course evaluation directly to our university.
We will accept official evaluation reports from the foreign education evaluation agencies listed below. The student is responsible for contacting the agency directly for procedure and fee information:
*Because membership may change throughout the year, applicants with non-U.S. transcripts requiring evaluation should visit the NACES or AICE web sites to see the most current information.
