Biography - Ryan O. Funkhouser


Ryan Funkhouser is a Professor of Management for the American Public University System. (APUS) He has been Active Duty military for the past 16 years doing assignments at Keesler AFB, Hanscom AFB, Wright Patterson AFB, the Air Force Academy,Robins AFB and Fort Belvoir in Virginia. His career field is Acquisitions working mainly Command and Control systems. Also, he taught on the Air Force Academy staff in the Department of Management, teaching courses in Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management and Introduction to Management. During his 16 years he has also worked as an Executive Officer three different times. Prior to his Active Duty time, Professor Funkhouser was enlisted in the Air National Guard as a Supply troop for 10 years and worked various jobs in the civilian sector.

Professor Funkhouser earned a BS in Management from Purdue University in 1988 and his Masters in Human Resource Management from Purdue in 1992. He is married to Michelle and has two kids ages 14 and 12. He enjoys all college sports, playing golf, reading, travel and spending time with his family.

Teaching for AMU has been an exciting time. It allows him to continue working with folks in an academic setting and encouraging them to be the best they can.
