Biography - Kenyetta Thigpen

Currently I am serving as teacher for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) in Stuttgart, Germany. I have been an educator in some capacity for over twelve years starting as a substitute teacher since 1993. During that time I have served as an Early Intervention Program team teacher for grades 4-6, Remedial Education math teacher, and a Social Studies coordinator for my local school. My passion for learning prompted me to continue my education beyond my Bachelor’s Degree. I earned a Master’s Degree in Humanities in May of 2004 from Central Michigan University and a Doctorate of Education from Capella University in 2009. My teaching philosophy is simple. My goal is to serve as a facilitator of learning, thus helping learners to be more active in the learning process. Encouraging learners to take a more active role will maximize their learning experience and will create life long learners.
