Biography - Robert A Kilgo

Professor Kilgo holds a B.S. in Computer Information Systems Management from Colorado Christian University and an M.S. in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota. He is a Senior Systems Engineer for Raytheon in Springfield, VA, supporting a government satellite program. In addition, Professor Kilgo is an Aerospace Operations staff member in the Air Force Reserve who supports U.S. Joint Forces Command, Joint Enabling Capabilities Command at Norfolk NAS, VA. Professor Kilgo served on active duty for over ten years working in multiple areas of military space operations, to include - satellite command and control, missile warning and space object identification, member of the Air Force Space Support Team, and was a founding member of the Air Force’s very first Space Control Squadron, where he worked with prototype counterspace systems. Since leaving active duty in 2002 he has supported several different government space systems as a contractor. Professor Kilgo’s interests are in anti-satellite systems and emerging space control technologies. He has been published in Quest - The History of Spaceflight Quarterly and is a contributing author for the upcoming Space Exploration and Humanity - A Historical Encyclopedia.
