
Loretta W. Veney is a security management professional with more than twenty-six years experience in the security industry. She has managed security operations for contract security companies and a large corporate security organization. She formed Superior Training Solutions in 1998, a company whose mission is maximizing employee performance through scenario based training. Her company focuses on the training and continuous development of security officers, supervisors and managers, control center personnel, investigators and physical security specialists. In addition to security and investigative subjects, Loretta also delivers courses on customer service, communication skills, leadership skills, and public relations to ensure that security personnel are adequately prepared for the profession. Her love of people and excellent communication skills make Loretta a very motivational teacher and trainer. In addition to teaching full time at AMU, she is also an adjunct faculty member of Webster University where she teaches graduate level Security Management and The George Washington University in Washington DC where she teaches the Security Management Capstone course in the Forensic Science Master’s Degree program.
Loretta holds a BA in Political Science from the Catholic University of America and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice / Forensic Science from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is a member of ASIS International (formerly the American Society of Industrial Security) where she served in a variety of leadership positions since 1989, including a six year term on its International Board of Directors from 2001 - 2006. Loretta received the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation from ASIS International in 1992.
Loretta has been married for 24 years to Tim, a retired DC K-9 cop and they live in Clinton, MD (near Andrews AFB just outside Wash DC).
