
Professor Timothy J. Hardiman is a 23 year veteran of the NYPD. He recently retired as an Inspector serving as the Commanding Officer of the 47th Precinct in the Bronx. Prior to that assignment Mr. Hardiman was assigned as the Commanding Officer of the 50th Precinct. Prior assignments include duty as the Commanding Officer of the Leadership Development Section of the Police Academy. There he was responsible for the promotional training for members being promoted to Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain as well as the in-service training for these ranks. He previously served as Commanding Officer of the Queens South Task Force. Mr. Hardiman has extensive investigative experience having served as the Commanding Officer of the 71 St. Detective Squad in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Special Victims Squad. He also served as a supervisor in the Principal Crime Unit of the Intelligence Division. Mr. Hardiman has provided instruction at the NYPD’s Criminal Investigation Course as well as its Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Course. He has been a presenter at several seminars dealing with Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigation.
Mr. Hardiman has attended numerous courses offered by the NYPD and is a graduate of the 194th Session of the FBI National Academy. He has an Master of Public Administration Degree from Marist College and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of the State of New York. Prior to joining the NYPD Mr. Hardiman served in the United States Marine Corps as a Nuclear Biological and Chemical Warfare Specialist. He is a graduate of the US Army Chemical School at Fort McClellan.
