Doctora Jurisevic received her BA in Spanish and Psychology from the University of San Diego . She spent a summer in a Spanish immersion program in Guadalajara, Mexico. During her undergraduate work, she was a TA for two years and received the Most Distinguished TA Award. She also did internships with the San Diego juvenile justice system and the San Diego City Attorney’s Office. In both internships, she worked as a Spanish-English translator-mediator. She began her graduate studies in Spanish at San Diego State University. She moved to Madrid, Spain where she participated in an immersion program in Spanish for graduate students through New York University. She graduated with her MA in Spanish Literature. Her thesis was on Three Latin American Women Writers and the Role of Magical Realism in Their Short Stories. Doctora Jurisevic returned to the US where she taught at the University of Kansas and Missouri Western State University. She then received her teaching certification and taught high school. After feeling the need to get back into higher education Dra. Jurisevic completed a PhD program at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in educational studies with her emphasis in teaching foreign language. Her dissertation was Student Achievement Using Web 2.0 Technologies A Mixed Methods Study.
