Matthew J Stork

Matthew J. Stork is an Assistant Professor in the Emergency and Disaster Management and Homeland Security program in the School of Public Safety & Health. In addition, Matt is a government employee with the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), where he serves as a program manager overseeing the Command Continuity of Operations and the Deployment Readiness Programs. Matt is also a Lt Col in the Air Force Reserves and is stationed at MacDill AFB.

Lt Col Stork’s professional experience spans over 20 years in the field of military and civilian emergency management, transportation, logistics, tactical and strategic aeromedical evacuation, medical health services administration, and aerospace equipment management. Lt Col Stork’s broad background also included critical work as a technical engineer and advisor for several leading airlines.

His formal education includes current attendance at Argosy University where he is working on his Doctorate in Education, and is 22 months from graduation. His other academic achievements include a Master of Science in Technical Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University.

In his personal time, Matt just completed a two year restoration of a 1944 Piper J3-C65 Cub. His J3 is flown regularly by Matt and originally was owned and operated by the US Army Air Corp, where it served as a air observation platform in France and Germany during the later part of WWII (1944-1947).
