
Robert (Rob) Baker has been an Instructor in the APUS Security Management, Criminal Justice and Social Sciences departments since Sep 2001. He became a full time member of the Security Management faculty in January 2007. He taught Criminal Justice and Management for Central Texas College for five years at Misawa Air Base, Japan prior to coming on board with APUS. He is retired from USAF Security Police/Forces. In twenty years of active duty he experienced many aspects of security work including basic sentry duty; response forces, Arms and Equipment; Information, Personnel, Industrial and Physical Security; Classification Management; management of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities; and, life-cycle acquisition and operational security, among other areas. After retiring from the Air Force in 2004, he worked for ManTech International as a Security Analyst at Headquarters Air Force Space Command in the Special Programs Division of the Plans and Analyses Directorate. In this role he was responsible for life-cycle security (studies, research and development, formal and rapid acquisition, testing, demonstration, operations and end-of-life) for a large portfolio of space-based systems. In January of 2009, Rob left ManTech and joined System High Corporation, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business specializing in providing high end security services to Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and Commercial customers. In addition to working actively in the security industry, he also dabbles in Business Development and Program Management. Rob holds two advanced degrees, a Master of Arts in Security Management (AMU) and a Master of Human Relations (University of Oklahoma). He is also a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) through the American Society for Industrial Security International (ASIS).
