Biography - Kenneth Howell


Kenneth W. Howell is an Associate Professor of History at Prairie View A&M University. He received his B.S. degree in history from the University of Texas—Tyler, his M. A. degree in history from Texas A&M University—Commerce and his Ph.D. in history from Texas A&M University in College Station. He taught for twelve years in the Texas public school system before becoming a faculty member in the history department at Prairie View A&M University in the fall of 2004. Dr. Howell has also taught at Texas A&M University (College Station), Blinn College (Bryan), North Harris Montgomery Community College (Woodlands), and Trinity Valley Community College (Athens). Dr. Howell has numerous publications that focus on history of Texas and the Old South. He currently resides in College Station, Texas, with his wife and two children.
