Biography - Yuriy Gubanov


Mr. Yuriy Gubanov holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from The Ural State Technical University, Russia as well as Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Engineering from The University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA. Additionally, he is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Leadership degree from The University of Liverpool, UK.

Mr. Gubanov has spent most of his career in the Information Technology (IT) field. He had briefly worked for the regional Russian airline company before moving to the US from Russia in 2002. While in graduate school at The University of Florida, Mr. Gubanov has worked as both teaching and research assistant. He has taught several programming and web development online classes and, in addition, participated in the Mobile and Pervasive Computing Laboratory research projects. For the last 5+ years he has been working as a software developer and an IT project lead. Currently, he is managing several projects involving the design and development of the proprietary tools to assess and evaluate the oil and gas opportunities. He is also conducting training for the in-house developed software applications and tools for the global geoscientist and management community in the energy industry.

His hobbies and interests include everything related to the information technology and computers. Mr. Gubanov enjoys playing chess, volleyball and traveling.
