
Dr. Brian Oddi Ph.D, CPT, PES, CSCS is an Instructor in the Department of Sports and Health Sciences at APUS. He holds a Master's degree in Health Science from California University of PA and is a team member with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Brian has been working with the National Association of Speed and explosion where he works as the online coordinator designing classes, and online certification programs. He is a certified personal trainer (CPT) a performance enhancement specialist (PES), a Strength and Conditioning specialist (NSCA) and a speed and explosion specialist (NASE). He is very active in the strength and conditioning community and is a current member with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He holds a second master's degree in Education and was an instructor and the Director of Athletic Performance at California University of PA where he ran and operated the strength and conditioning programs and facilities with a staff of 20. He had experience working with collegiate teams as the head performance enhancement coach and was responsible for all operations in the strength and conditioning department. Brian has done work with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, where he was able to work in fitness clubs, sports specific training facilities, workshops, committee’s and in the classroom. Brian has been active in athletics, being drafted into the Canadian Football League (CFL) by the Ottawa Renegades in 2005. Brian was also a member of the Hamilton Tiger Cats (CFL) before leaving professional football to pursue his career in teaching. Brian has taught a variety of courses in the performance enhancement sector along with athletic training/rehabilitation science. He enjoys the practical applications in strength and conditioning and performance enhancement. Brian earned his Ph.D in Educational Leadership/E-Learning from Trident University in Cypress California. Brian continues to do research in field and has published with the National Association of Speed and Explosion. His doctoral research was conducted with online Exercise Science majors studying learning styles and brain dominance. Brian is happily married to his beautiful wife Michelle Noelani and enjoys spending his free time with her and their dog "Moki". He is very active in the weight room and enjoys to workout and explore new ideas and research in the field of Performance Enhancement.
