Biography - Marcial Echenique

My name is Marcial Echenique. My background is in computer programming and consulting with emphasis on Oracle system implementations. I worked in the computer industry for over 15 years before moving into academics. I have taught a wide range of courses ranging from pre-algebra to differential equations and statistics.

My undergraduate education was at Auburn University where I studied mathematics. I also spent considerable time in graduate schools obtaining an MS in mathematics (University of Texas at Arlington), MBA (University of Georgia), and Doctorate in Education (Florida Atlantic University) with emphasis in developmental mathematics. As you can see from my background, I do enjoy mathematics. I look forward to sharing the passion with all of you in the class.

In my spare time, I try to enjoy the water related activities available in South Florida. My favorite is to go scuba diving in about 60 feet of water. I find that hearing the sound of my breathing and nothing else very therapeutic. The scuba diving activities has been put on hold for the time being since my two young children require my take up any free time that I may have.
