Biography - John D Welch


Professor Welch has been an educator for over twenty five years and enjoys being an instructor very much. Professor Welch earned his bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences while finishing his studies at Middlesex University in London, England and his master's degree in Military History - Land Warfare from American Military University. Professor Welch was a contributing member of the team that produced the 1996 Computer Wargame of the Year, Steel Panthers for Strategic Simulations Incorporated. He also worked on Age of Rifles and the Steel Panthers sequel. In 1997, Professor Welch became a contributing editor of 'The War Zone' a monthly publication of the Novastar Game Company. In 1997 and 1998, Professor Welch worked with the USS Oriskany (CV 34) artifact recovery team to find and remove items from the aircraft carrier for shipment and display at the Oriskany Museum in upstate New York. In 2000, Professor Welch was named Outstanding Graduate by the Distance Education and Training Council. Professor Welch is a member of the Battle of Normandy Foundation, the Omicron Chapter of the Phi Beta Delta International Honor Society and the International Conference on Economics. In 2001, Professor Welch was selected by the California Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution to attend the Freedoms Foundation Institute in Valley Forge. Professor Welch is also a Fellow of the Nuclear Age Institute (University of California Davis). In 2010, Victory Point Games released a game on the French Revolution called Levee en Masses that Professor Welch designed. Professor Welch is married and has a seventeen year-old daughter.
