Valencia Gabay
Valencia Gabay’s academic career includes an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Student Personnel and Higher Education both from the University of Florida.
She began her professional career in student affairs as an academic advisor at Georgia State University. During her time in Atlanta, she gained a deeper appreciation for the student affairs profession and returned to Florida to become the recruiter and advisor for the University of Florida's Doctor of Pharmacy program. She enjoyed traveling throughout the state of Florida talking with students about careers in pharmacy and the value of early career exploration. As the Coordinator of Orientation for the College Arts and Sciences at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Valencia composed and delivered all orientation presentations and oversaw all registration workshops for transfer orientation participants.
Most recently, Valencia has transferred her student development skills to the online learning environment, teaching general education and foundations courses. As a new addition to APUS, Valencia is excited about being an adjunct instructor. Her goals include, preparing students to be life-long learners and helping them use their critical thinking skills to reach their highest academic potential.
Valencia was born in California and now resides in Orlando, Florida with her husband and two boys. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, college football, and fishing.
