
Kenneth is a full time Assistant Professor who has been teaching courses at APUS for 6 years. He teaches SS210, GM434, GM330, and MC398. He has taught online courses at Baker College, Franklin University, Grand Canyon University, Lakeland College, Park University, Southern New Hampshire University, and Widener University.
Professor Brownson earned an AAS in Nursing from Delaware Technical and Community College; BSPA (conc. in Education) from St. Joseph’s College (ME); MS in Management from the American College (PA); MS in Psychology from California Coast University; and a Graduate Certificate in Community Health Education from California College for Health Sciences. He completed additional graduate work in History at California State University; in Education at Newport University; and Public Health at American Public University.
Professor Brownson has been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years. He is a certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse through American Nurses Credentialing Center and a Certified Allied Health Instructor through American Medical Technologists. He has published 40 articles in professional healthcare journals and has written a book, “ College at Home for Nurses and All Healthcare Professionals “(www.authorhouse.com).
Professor Brownson is on the Editorial Board of The Health Care Manager and Co-edited an issue of Hospital Material Management Quarterly. He is a past Vice President and Board Member of Brandywine Counseling, Inc. for 5 years. In 2003, 2004 and 2007 he won First Place in the American Medical Technologists Feature Writing Award and Second Place in 2006. He served in the USN for four years and is a Viet Nam Veteran serving with USMC as a Hospital Corpsman.
