Dr. Neil Starr has been teaching college mathematics since 1992. His education background consists of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics (with a minor in Writing) from the University of Tampa in 1986; a Master of Science degree in Mathematics Education from Florida International University in 1991; and a Doctor of Education degree in Adult Education from Nova Southeastern University in 2000. Dr. Starr began teaching for the American Public University System in the fall of 2011, but he has taught in the online environment since 2003.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Starr has been involved in a variety of volunteer activities in the past, including work as a tutor in an adult literacy program, an adult basic education program, a middle-school deaf education program, and, most recently, his two children’s schools. Among his interests away from work are long-distance cycling, tennis, and softball.
