Biography - Henry G. Brzycki


Dr. Henry G. Brzycki, Ph.D. has over 30 years of professional experiences at all levels in our system of education. He has served in numerous leadership roles in education, on Board’s of Trustees and Directors, and was recently President of an educational consulting firm. Henry is a noted thought leader in psychology and education, where he continues to challenge educators and counselors alike to find new pathways to empowering child, adolescent, and adult learners. He has been both a classroom teacher and counselor and most recently served on the faculty at the Pennsylvania State University. While a faculty member at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, he was honored with the 2009 teacher of the year award. The focus of his scholarly work is teaching and learning best practices at the intersection of psychology and education; providing a critical bridge between theory and practice in teacher education. Dr. Brzycki is known for applying positive psychology, motivation, and self directed learning in
K-16 classrooms that enhance learning achievement and well-being outcomes.

Dr. Brzycki has designed a national teacher certification professional development program with the U.S. Department of Education, numerous undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs and courses, to meet the highest standards of excellence required of accreditation agencies such as the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), and the PA and NH Departments of Education . In addition, Dr. Brzycki has consulted to educational policy makers on school reform and new teacher education models. Henry is also a published author in text books, peer reviewed articles, and conference papers, where he has provided leadership to the American Education Research Association (AERA) for the past three years. Dr. Brzycki is also active in ASCD, and the American Counseling Association.
