Biography - James P Conroy


My name is James Conroy and I am a Detective with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Toms River, NJ and am assigned to the Special Investigations Unit: Economic Crimes Bureau. In this position I am responsible for investigating all white collar crimes, fraud, identity theft and internal affairs. I have also worked crime scene investigation, violent crimes, computer crimes and unattended death investigations.


Prior to this, I was a Special Agent/Criminal Investigator assigned to working on an organized crime task force for five years. I have been in law enforcement for approximately 13 years. I hold an MS in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and have been teaching online for the past 8 years. I have been an online instructor at APUS for the past year and have served as a course developer, subject matter expert, Program Chair and Lead Faculty for several universities.


In addition to the above information, I am certified as a NJ state police instructor of criminal investigation, patrol tactics and firearms, and serve as an expert witness on fraud related matters. I am currently completing the requirements for my doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration, and hope to have this completed in 2013.
