Biography - Ramona L Mata

I have spent most of my career relocating as a military family member and have had the opportunity to work for several organizations in a variety of industries. My primary career path had centered around Human Resources, specifically in Learning and Organizational Development.

Most recently, I found my HAPPY PLACE at The SCOOTER Store in New Braunfels, Texas. I facilitated training for the outside sales team also known as Healthcare Relations Consultants. Other projects included developing online courses and serving as a facilitator for The SCOOTER Store Quarterly Planning Sessions. Unfortunately due to the recent and continuous changes in Medicare guidelines, I was laid off.

I am also a 12 year veteran of the United States Air Force which is where my passion for training began. I was certified as a Total Quality Management, Master Instructor and became a Quality Program Manager. I then applied and was offered a special duty assignment as a Professional Military Education Instructor at the Offutt Air Force Base Airman Leadership School in Nebraska.

After separating honorably from the Air Force in 1998, I became the Resident Center Administrator for Park University at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. I joined the Park University adjunct faculty staff in 1998 and I earned my Online Instructor Certification in 2000. In 2005, I developed and published my first online course, CA 104, Interpersonal Communication.

My background in Human Resources includes working as a Transition Assistance Facilitator and Job Placement Specialist for the New Jersey Department of Labor; a Career Counselor at Millennium High School in Goodyear, Arizona; and a Training Delivery and Design Specialist for Washington Mutual, in San Antonio, Texas.

Some of my biggest accomplishments include being recognized as the Air Combat Command Professional Military Instructor of the Year. I was also recognized as the State of Nebraska Hispanic Woman of the Year and the Nebraska Hispanic Woman of Color.

I have an Associates of Applied Science in both Logistics Management and Instructor Technology, and hold the Occupational Instructor Certificate. In addition, I have a B.S. in Human Resource Management from Southern New Hampshire University, and a M.A. in Management from Bellevue University in Nebraska.

I have always wanted to be able to work from home and focus on my passion for teaching online. I enjoy helping students achieve their educational and professional goals.

I live in San Antonio, TX and have 3 children, Nicholas 23, Alaena 22 and Isabella 14.
