Biography - Frank R Lazzara


Dr. Frank Lazzara obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Auburn University and his Masters of Business Administration from Columbus State University. He was awarded his Doctorate of Philosophy in Organization and Management with a Specialization in Information Technology Management from Capella University. His dissertation focus was on Critical Success Factors in Economic Development in West Central Georgia.

He currently serves as the Director of Business Development for JANUS Research Group and is a former Director of Technology and Faculty member at Columbus State University’s Turner College of Business where he taught for over eleven years in Management and Information Systems Management fields.

His professional interest lies in strategic planning and management in both the traditional and information technology disciplines. He planned and implemented a major information systems program partnership between Columbus State and IBM for the IBM Academic Initiative program. He has published in organizational behavioral journals and presented papers in the information technology fields.

Additionally, Dr. Lazzara has volunteered a great deal of his time to youth coaching in football, baseball and track and field. He has coached from the youth league levels up to the high school athletics level.

When there is spare time, he loves to study and visit American Civil War battlefields. A former United States Army Armor Officer originally from the Columbus, Georgia and east Alabama area, he was involved in Economic and Workforce Development, information technology consulting, and research analysis. He has also worked over the years with regional and military consulting with the City of Columbus and Fort Benning, in particular with the BRAC realignment at Benning.

Dr. Lazzara plans to be teaching in both the graduate and undergraduate schools for Management.
