Chris M Hooper

Chris Hooper has earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma and a Masters in Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Chris joins APUS after serving in the US Coast Guard for over 23 years. His positions in the military have included supervising clinical personnel specializing in Employee Assistance services and family counseling, medical administration, and Director, Talent Acquisition, Eastern Division. In addtion, Chris earned two Coast Guard Commendation and three Achievement Medals for his supervisory roles and deployed in support of Hurricanes Katrina, Ike, and the recent Deepwater Horizon Oil spill in the Gulf.

As an instructor, Chris focuses on creating for students an environment that embraces and values learning. His areas of instruction include business marketing, HR management, recruiting, and strategic planning and development. Chris is also an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, working outdoors, exercising, and restoring cars.

Chris has been happily married for 23 years and has two school aged children.
