Elizabeth Russell is a Full-time Instructor of emergency management for APUS. She possesses a Master's degree in Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness as well as a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies, both from Elmira College. Aside from work with APUS, Elizabeth works as a private consultant for disaster recovery firms. After a disaster, she aids in the public assistance process and interfaces with FEMA, local, and state officials to ensure a healthy recovery to any area.
Elizabeth also has experience in emergency planning for the non-profit sector, particularly for organizations working with children and special populations. She has also worked as a Program Assistant with WorldTeach, Inc. out of Harvard University and as a research assistant at Elmira College.
Elizabeth acts as the faculty advisor for the IAEM Student Chapter of APUS where she actively engages with the student population and is eager to ensure that the organization experiences the same level of activity that she was afforded in her years as a student.
