Theodore A. Rueter

I earned a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have taught political science at Middlebury College, Georgetown University, Smith College, UCLA, Tulane University, DePauw University, and Beloit College.

I have authored, co-authored, or edited 12 books, on presidential debates, racial politics, international economics, Minnesota politics, and college teaching.

I am the founder and director of Noise Free America, a national non-profit organization devoted to noise reduction. www.NoiseFree.org. I have appeared on "20/20" and CNN to discuss noise pollution.

I have worked for the Wisconsin state legislature, the Minnesota state legislature, the mayor of Madison (Wisconsin), and a member of the United States House of Representatives. In 1998, I was the Policy Director for Mark Dayton, a candidate for governor of Minnesota.
