Biography - George E Charles

Professor George E. Charles is a Finance and International Business Instructor, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a Masters Degree in Financial Management and a Doctor of Business Administration (ABD) degree in International Business. He has extensive finance and international business experience having traveled extensively, mainly to Asia, consulting with clients on a variety of projects, evaluating their strategic options, reviewing financing alternatives, and making recommendations relating to international funding and joint venture partnerships. Professor Charles previously worked as a consultant for an International Development company in the Washington D.C. area, and as a development banker in the Caribbean.

As an instructor, Professor Charles focuses on creating for students, a learning environment that values the love of learning, the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary for academic and professional success in the global environment. His instructional style is student oriented and he constantly draws from his real world experiences, to facilitate student participation, learning, and the achievement of their academic and professional goals. He has consistently received outstanding evaluations, and has received awards for teaching excellence.

Professors Charles holds membership with the Academy of International Business, the American Finance Association, and the National Association of Professional Tax Practitioners. Outside of his work and family, he enjoys playing the Alto Sax, vegetable gardening and bicycling on the streets of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
