Alexander Poster defended his Ph.D. in history at The Ohio State University on May 21. He is currently studying at Yale as a Smith-Richardson Predoctoral Fellow in International Security Studies. He has also taught at Muskingum University and Capital University. His dissertation, entitled "A Hierarchy of Survival- The United States and the Negotiation of International Disaster Relief, 1981-1989" examines the political and economic motives behind Washington's international disaster relief policy during the Reagan years. Alexander’s editorial about Haitian Disaster Relief was published for the History News Network. His article on famine relief in Ethiopia was accepted for publication in Diplomatic History in December.
