Biography - Nicole A Cain


I have over 12 years of law enforcement experience serving in a variety of capacities to include, patrol operations, uniform crime scene, community oriented policing (COP) and criminal investigations. Most recently I investigated violent crimes to include; homicides, sexual batteries, aggravated batteries, and aggravated assaults. During my tenure in law enforcement, I authored police reports, arrest affidavits, and search warrants, observed autopsies, testified in court, processed crime scenes, interviewed witnesses and conducted interrogations.

I attained a B.A. in Political Science, a M.S. in Criminal Justice Administration and Police Officer Minimum Standards. I have taken a variety of professional development courses in my field to include, Crime Scene Photography, Instructor Techniques, Death and Injury Investigations, Sex Crimes Investigations, The Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation, Violent Crime Analysis, Behavioral Oriented Interviews, Profiling Crime Scene Assessment, Investigative Interviews and Uniform Crime Scene.

My essay, “Walking the Ethical Line: The Use of Deception by Police Detectives During Investigative Interviews.” was published in The Florida Police Chief Magazine in July 2004.
I have instructed numerous criminal justice courses online utilizing the eCollege, Educator, and Sakai platforms.
