Biography - Kimberlee M Ratliff


As a school counselor for 12 years, Dr. Ratliff has worked at the elementary and middle school levels in North Carolina and Virginia. She received her B.S. in psychology from Fayetteville State University, M.Ed. in school counseling from Campbell University, and Ed.D. in counseling psychology from Argosy University/Sarasota. She was an active member of the Virginia Counselors Association (VCA) and Virginia School Counselors Association (VSCA) by serving as the VCA Chapter Council Chair for 2 years and the VSCA Middle School Vice President. Dr. Ratliff has presented workshops at the county, state and national level, as well as, participated in the revision of the school counseling curriculum in Prince William County, Virginia. She also worked at George Mason University as an adjunct professor and provided supervision for students at James Madison University, George Mason, and Marymount University. In 2008, Dr. Ratliff was awarded the Virginia Counselor of the Year Award and previously received the Prince William County Schools (PWCS) Above and Beyond Award, PWC Education Foundation Hero in Education Award, and the PWCS Classy Award. In addition, she served as a mental health worker for the American Red Cross during Hurricane Wilma in Key West, Florida and is a former volunteer coordinator for the International Race to Stop the Silence (Stop Child Sexual Abuse). Research interests include racial identity development of multiracial children, self-injury, and military children and families.
