I am a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania who currently resides just outside of Philadelphia. I recently graduated with my doctorate in colonial American history, which was quite a relief to finally be done. I wrote my dissertation on capital punishment in colonial Pennsylvania and decided that in the future I have to pick some more upbeat topics to write about. I've taught both online and in more traditional colleges for a number of years now and I really love interacting with my students.
In my spare time, I read way too many history books, spend time with my family who primarily live in the area, and like to run and bike. I regularly compete in duathlons, which are like triathlons without that pesky part of swimming. I love the summer because it gives me plenty of opportunities to compete against my friends even if they keep telling me how slow I am on the bike. I'm a big Phillies fan and I even liked them when they were a truly awful team.
I like to visit historical sites whenever I'm on vacation. One area I really enjoyed was the old town section of Quebec because it had the feel of a medieval town over in North America. I've been to many of the local sites in Philadelphia, which was inevitable as I used to work as a tour guide.
