Biography - Larry W Causby


Larry Causby has over twenty years of domestic and international emergency management and public safety experience. Mr. Causby received his Bachelor of Science degree, a post graduate certificate, and Master of Science in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University. Currently, he is the EMS Training Coordinator for Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.

Mr. Causby has lectured nationally and internationally. He holds fourteen instructor certifications. At the collegiate level, he has taught classes in public health, emergency management, paramedicine, terrorism, incident command, and weapon of mass destruction, in both online and traditional classroom environments for the past eighteen years. He is a member of the National Association of EMTs, the Georgia Association of EMTs, and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

During his career, he has worked as an EMT, Paramedic, supervisor, manager, and educator. His real-world experiences include Presidential and Vice-Presidential details, the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Super Bowl XXVIII, and five major hurricanes. He was the Medical Transportation Coordinator during Atlanta’s NDMS call-up for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He spent four years working and teaching in the Caribbean. He was a member of Bahamas Games Medical Committee. He served on the Bahamas Ministry of Health’s committee responsible for developing the country’s first EMS legislation.
