Professor Phillips is an Fulltime Faculty Member and Assistant Professor in the School of Security and Global Studies (Homeland Security Department). His formal education includes a Doctorate in Management (ABD), Master of Science in Management: Information Systems Security Concentration, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Information Technology Concentration, and an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice.
His professional experience includes a career in federal law enforcement and military - Detention Enforcement Officer, Police Officer, Physical Security Specialist, Supervisory Special Agent and former United States Marine.
His expertise includes, but is not limited to, executive protection, criminal investigations, security surveys, physical security countermeasures, explosive countermeasures, technical surveillance countermeasures, and chemical, biological, and radiological countermeasures.
His teaching experience includes undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Information Technology, Information Systems Security, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Terrorism and Counterterrisom, Emergency Disaster Preparedness, etc.
He is very active in his community, to include owning a successful certified personal training business, where he teaches self-defense/martial arts (Mixed Martial Arts, Shotokan Karate, Aikido, Ju-jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Wing-Chun Kung Fu), is a musician (Pianist, Organist, Singer, Choir Director, Producer), enjoys playing sports (i.e., Basketball, Football, Baseball, Volleyball), and publishes scholarly articles.
Professor Phillips is dedicated to instructing students. He strives to give them what they need in order to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
