Biography - Julie A Duncan


Julie Duncan received her Bachelor's in Social Work from Edinboro University in 1984. She completed her Master's in Counseling Psychology and was certified as a K-12 School Counselor in 1994.

Prior to joining AMU her career path carried her in various directions, which often included the Education field. She worked as a Drug and Alcohol Consultant in K-12 Schools, educating administrators, teachers, and students on the state D/A curriculum components. She also fulfilled the role of the Student Assistance Coordinator in the high schools she serviced.

She worked for several years as an Elementary School Counselor and taught in K-5 classrooms.

Julie joined AMU in December 2010 as an Adjunct Faculty Member and currently teaches COLL - 100, as well as Infant and Toddler Development in the Child and Family Development Program.

She is married and has two school age children. Julie enjoys reading and writing children's literature, photography, and family activities in her spare time.
