Biography - Donna J Nicol

Born in Charleston, West Virgina and raised in Los Angeles, California, I'm a 3rd generation history graduate. I earned my BA in history and African American Studies from California State University Fullerton; a MA in U.S. History from California State University Long Beach; a MA in higher education administration and a Ph.D. in social and cultural foundations of education (with a specialization in African American educational history), both of which from The Ohio State University.

Currently, I teach courses in the Women's Studies Program at California State University Fullerton. I teach courses in African American women's history, women in leadership, directed readings in Black Feminist Thought and social science research methods. My research focuses on the politics of multicultural education reform and African American women's grassroots activism.

I am excited to be apart of the History Department at APUS and look forward to sharing my love of African American history with students.
