Jenny D Johnson

Jenny D Johnson began her higher education career at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she was a women’s volleyball NCAA Division I scholarship student athlete. As team captain Jenny was the first female volleyball athlete to graduate from UNCG playing all four years at the Division I level. Upon graduation Jenny completed her major in Leisure Service Management. After a ten-year stent of career and family building, Jenny returned to California University of PA to obtain her Masters of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. She is currently completing a doctorate in education from Northcentral University with a concentration in curriculum and teaching.

Jenny’s career highlights include:
• Female assistant athletic director at Kanakuk Kamps, Inc.
• Fitness Competitor/Model/Author for Oxygen, Muscle Mag International, Iron Man and Universal Nutrition Matters publications
• Aerobic Coordinator
• Head Personal Trainer
• Exercise Physiologist within a Cardio/Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department
• Leisure Services Incorporated (LSI) award winning summer activities director and Jellystone Park of the year 2007.

Jenny began teaching Health and Physical Fitness at the college level in 2006. In 2010 she determined her passion was preventative education and left her position as Exercise Physiologist to teach exercise as a form of disease prevention and bring health education to future leaders. Her expertise is in teaching traditional, hybrid and in online-environments as she is fluent in five Learning Management Systems.

Jenny is a volunteer volleyball director/coach for South Columbus Sports Club. Her goal is to provide the opportunity for college athletic scholarships to female athletes in her community. She also remains active in sport management through special event planning and assisting the owners of Yogi Bear’s at Daddy Joe’s Jellystone Park. She is a wife of 16 years and mother of two.

In her spare time Jenny enjoys exercising, cooking, reading and playing with her family. She is an avid baseball fan – and official coach’s wife - of Southeastern Community College Rams. Since 1990 Disney World has been a favorite vacation destination as the management and logistics of the parks fascinate her. If Jenny were not teaching she would be a starving actress/beach bum in LA.
