Biography - Donald P Latrick

Professor Latrick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from The American University in Washington, D.C. together with graduate degrees from the University of Southern California; Central Michigan University; and St. Mary’s Seminary & University. He is also a civilian graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College (now the Joint Forces Staff College)--a component of the National Defense University).
Currently, Professor Latrick is an Adjunct Faculty instructor teaching courses in Political Science, Homeland Security, and Intelligence Analysis at the Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland. He was selected by the college to participate in a pilot program teaching Homeland Security to officers of the Transportation Security Administration.
Mr. Latrick enjoyed a rewarding career with the Department of Defense where he was an intelligence analyst, a budget staff officer, and an executive manager for which he was awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service Award. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Air Force where he studied Chinese (Mandarin) and Korean languages.
Professor Latrick lives in Maryland and enjoys golf, yoga, ballroom dancing, golf, reading, and--in the winter--reading about golf. To make sure he gets his money’s worth from a round of golf, he tries to hit the ball as many times as possible. Don is the very proud father of three adult children: a daughter who is a bio-chemist; a son who is a corporate attorney; and a daughter who works in professional theatre. His coffee mug carries the saying: “God sends no stress that golfing and prayer can’t handle” … something he tries to remember when standing over those three-foot putts.
